Insights Of Christian Dating.

A friend once said “ Something tells me that I shouldn’t date until the world makes sense again. People don’t know the meaning of dating here”… Let’s get enlightened…

Dating has been tagged for fun in the recent world. What is the need for it; to have sex, to kiss always, to see someone u will always tell ” I love u”, to be happy or to have someone to think about? I think there should be a sole reason for dating other than the lists, It is very important to know that, dating actually affords us the opportunity of getting to answer some of the questions we might want to be answered before we start anything. Questions bothering on genotype, religious views, sex etc should come up while dating, it would be useless to say yes to someone only to break up tomorrow because of some of these unanswered questions. It’s glaring how the internet has helped in feeding Christian with the parody of a perfect relationship.

dating Being yourself and being honest to that self is one rule to having a healthy relationship. Couple goals are always portrayed in a perfect picture all over the net, gone are the days where women take their men and grow with them. Wonder why the quote ‘behind a successful man… ‘Isn’t often used anymore, we want someone who is already made, and sometimes our instincts are wrong…

As Christians, we read the same word but our ideologies are different. Various advice on dating out there like -Don’t kiss before you’re married.- or Put clear boundaries into place etc…our dating advice is surprising of diversity. Let’s look into God’s term:

  1. Mark 12:30 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”. You will not truly love anyone else if you do not love God first and most. And be not deceived, no one can without the help of God. But thousands of questions could come into our minds like, how exactly would I know who to court. The bible further stated 1 cor 2:16 ‘”we have the mind of Christ”  let that mind alive, let it lead us.

     2. ‘Therefore encourage one another and build one another up” 1 Thessalonians 5:11  ..             Patient is a virtue, help build the man you pictured – in God and watch God come                 into the Union

Now, we also need to understand there’s a difference between accepting a toxic relationship and accepting the other’s flaws, that’s a broad one.

Do you want to date and marry well? Listen to Jesus, and love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength ‘Seek him first’ Matthew 6:33.
