Biography of Tim Godfrey

Tim Godfrey is a music producer, a director, a songwriter, music teacher, a vocal instructor, a writer, and a singer. He is said to have adopted the Kirk Franklin and Tye Tribbett kind of music here in Nigeria.


Tim Godfrey born Timothy Chukwudi Godfrey, was born on the 26th of August in Kaduna, hails from Anambra State, and received both his primary and secondary education at his family’s church in Kaduna State and he performed in the choir as a teenager. There are no accurate records surrounding his birth, but shortly after school, he moved to different places where he served as a houseboy before relocating to Lagos Nigeria. None of these circumstances stopped his music career. He is from a family of seven children and he is the second son.

After being a music director who is vast in musical knowledge ranging from musical directing, voice grooming, songwriting amongst others, Tim decided to kick off a professional career in music in 2004. He started the Extreme Crew first as a musical evangelical body with a view to spreading the gospel their performances. In 2015, the Extreme Crew won the AMEN Awards for musical excellence in Nigeria with Tim Godfrey as the General Manager. He is the founder and owner of Rox Label and has won so many awards and has also been nominated for some.
