Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) leaders pledge their support for pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo – Rape Scandal

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have on Sunday 14th July, pledged their support for Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA).

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo who was accused of rape a few weeks ago by Busola Dakolo, wife of Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo. Recall that this was made public when Busola granted an interview with Ynaija saying that the pastor raped her at the tender age of 17.

Following her revelation, other women were able or rather forced to speak, claiming that the pastor had at one time, raped or taken advantage of them. Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo was forced to take a leave of absence following the allegations.

However, on Sunday 14th July, the president of CAN Abuja, Rev. Jonah Samson and the CAN president North Central, Rev. Israel Akanji, visited the church and spoke to the congregation. They pledged their support and fervent prayers for the senior pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo as he goes through this tough time.

In his words: I assure you that we are with you and we will continue to be with you. We are in support of the church, we are in support of your pastor. We will stand by him and this church will continue to march forward.

They also added that other Christians are praying from them.
